Our Founder, Rebecca Murray, is a privacy lawyer — so security and data protection have been at the forefront of Sought’s design from day one.
Our servers are secure and protected, but we’ve gone one step further: we’ve put control of your data in your hands.
- You can delete any documents as soon as you’ve finished converting them, ensuring they’re removed from our servers immediately.
- If you forget to delete them, we automatically delete all uploaded files 12 hours after upload. A visible countdown timer on your dashboard shows exactly when your documents will be permanently deleted — so you’re always in control.

No — we can’t see the content of any document you upload.
We may collect limited usage data (like the number of files uploaded or their formats) to help improve our service, but we never access, view, or store your document content.

Once you delete a document, it’s permanently removed from our servers and cannot be recovered — even by us. We don’t keep backups of deleted files.

Yes — Sought was built by a privacy lawyer with confidentiality in mind. However, we (honestly, our founder and boss, Rebecca) always recommend reviewing your organisation’s privacy policies before uploading highly sensitive data.
Our servers are hosted in secure, privacy-compliant data centres. When you create an account with Sought, you can choose where your information is stored — because we believe data control should start with you.
With a Pro subscription, you can change your data region anytime, giving you even more flexibility and peace of mind. It’s just one more way we’re putting your privacy in your hands.
Absolutely. You can contact our support team or use your account settings to permanently delete your account and all related data.
